The finish of your floor is a personal preference. Some people just like to see a shiny floor when they walk into their home.
A higher gloss finish will bring out the colour of your floor and make the room feel more vibrant. When you are choosing a finish for a high traffic area, you should be aware, a shinier finish does tend to highlight marks more than a low-sheen. Therefore, in high-traffic areas like hallways and staircases, choose you finish wisely.
