Superior Flooring by Herwynen Sawmill

The pioneer grade allows all natural colour variations and can show heavy mineral streaks.  Small splits, checks, holes, voids, surface cracks and natural hardwood defects, that did not make our other grades, are allowed in the Pioneer Grade.  This grade consists of many shorter pieces averaging from 10 inches to 24 inches.

Depending on the look you want to achieve our Pioneer Grade produces a serviceable floor.  We do not allow for any manufacturing defects from milling to finishing in the Pioneer Grade, such as missing tongues, surface marks, blemishes or defective finishes.

NOTE: Since we cannot predict how much Pioneer Grade will be yielded from a run this is not a stock item and has limited availability.  Pioneer grade may not be avaiable in your wood selection in any given moment, so you may have to wait for a period of time before your order can be fulfilled.

Pioneer grade is often chosen for its rustic look and feel.
