Many of us make buying decisions and choices today which are good for the environment. Choosing to use hardwood flooring is no exception -- wood is a natural, renewable and recyclable resource.
A Renewable Resource
The continual reforestation of our forests makes wood a renewable resource. According to the Hardwood Council, Canada and the United States plant twice as many trees as they harvest each year.
No Landfills
While old carpet and vinyl end up in the local landfill, an "old" hardwood floor can be refinished and restored to its original, newly installed appearance.
No Chemicals
We use environmentally friendly products to finish your flooring. Our stains are water based, our UV cured coating is 100% reactive which means that there are virtually no volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) emitted from the finish during the application process or afterwards. The material is also free of formaldehyde, isocyanate and other hazardous air pollutants.
No Critters
Your environment is just as important as the world environment and hardwood flooring is the smart choice for the environment in your home. The health of your home is important to us. All medical professionals; from doctors and specialists to medical associations or organizations, all seem to agree unanimously - wood floors are healthier for you. Allergenic asthma can be triggered by the mould and dust mites collecting in your carpets. The Canadian Lung Association recommends the removal of carpets especially from your bedroom, if you are already an allergy or asthma sufferer. And if you and your family want to avoid prolonged exposure to the allergens and dust mites crawling around in your carpets, wood is your best alternative.
Protect the Air You Breathe
A brand new carpet can also cause allergic reactions. Various chemicals are used in the manufacturing process and this "off-gasing" continues after your carpet is installed and becomes a part of the air you breathe. Wood has no mould, no mildew, no mites, and no harmful gases.
Lasts A Lifetime
When shopping for your wood floor, remember this is a life long product of natural beauty and durability. Superior offers you a vast selection of wood choices in a wide range of pricing for affordability and quality. Wood floors are easy to maintain, environmentally sound, a healthier choice for you and they last a lifetime.
